It’s Friday Junior!
I hope you’re all having a great week and are ready for the upcoming weekend to begin. This weekend I’m going to be heading up to Lake George in New York and I’m super excited. I’ve never been but I hear it’s really beautiful. I’m a travel junkie and I love seeing new places, being outside around nature, and doing things that get my adrenaline pumping. I wasn’t really sure what to pack for this trip so I thought I would get myself organized and share some of my tips on packing.
1.) Make a list: If I didn’t make a list I would probably forget the majority of the things I need to bring. I write everything out with good, old-fashioned pen and paper, and I try to categorize everything: daytime outfits, nighttime outfits, beauty and skincare, hair products, etc. Once I have a list I’m able to go through my closet and get out everything I need. Once it goes in my suitcase or bag it gets checked off. I also pack the list with me so that if I need to remember what to bring home I can look at my list and know exactly what I brought there.
2.) Walk yourself through the trip: The next step is to look at your list and walk yourself through your trip. What will you need when you wake up the first day? What about after that? As you walk yourself through each day and the possible activities you’re going to do you’ll remember more things you need to bring.
3.) Lay everything out: Next, I go through my closet and take out everything that’s on my list. I’m a very visual person so I like to lay it all out on the floor and organize it into piles.I love using small travel kits that you can easily get from a drugstore, for my shampoo, conditioner and lotion. Everytime I travel I just fill them up with the products I have in my house and it’s so convenient. I also love using the Honest Beauty travel kit for my skincare products.
4.) Pack it up: The last step of course is to pack everything up and put it in your bag. I like to use Victoria’s Secret totes for weekend trips. I have a black and white striped bag I got from them which I love. Normally, I use the rolling method where you roll up all your clothes because it saves so much room. I always leave my bag open and leave it next to my bed the night before so that I remember to bring things that I need in the morning like my toothbrush. Also, don’t forget to charge everything the night before.
I hope these tips are helpful for anyone who is going to be travelling soon. I’ll be away for the weekend but I’m going to be recapping the trip in a post next week. I hope you all have an amazing weekend! Comment below and let me know what your plans are 🙂
