This Week’s Inspiration

It’s Sunday again, the weeks seem to be flying by and I’m so happy it’s October. It used to be my least favorite month as a kid because fun fact: I hated Halloween growing up. I was always kind of a scaredy cat and I always felt so creeped out the month leading up to Halloween. But now as an adult I’m in love with this time of year. I thought for the first Sunday of this month I would share some of the things I’m loving right now and some things that are getting me inspired. Let me know whats inspiring you right now! I would love to get some new ideas and inspiration.

1.) Lauren Conrad: She’s just GOALS. I’ve been going on her website which I have linked for inspiration for my own blog and everything is just so pretty. She’s classy, she’s a boss lady and I just really like her which is weird because I was never really into her when she was on the The Hills. I really admire her and everything she’s accomplished and I feel like she’s a good role model.

2.) Fall Playlist: These are my current favorite songs right now and I’ve been playing them non-stop.

  • Band of Horses- No One’s Gonna Love you
  • James Hersey- Coming Over (filous remix)
  • Fitz and the Tantrums- Out of my League
  • Milky Chance- Stolen Dance
  • Rufus- Two Clocks
  • Pat Lok- All in my Head ft. Desiree Dawson (goldfields remix)
love this flowery head

3.) Mimi Ikonn’s interview with London Real: I just love this woman! UGHHH. She’s so frickin inspiring and down to Earth. She brings real value into my life and I know she brings value to others which is something I hope to do with this blog. The video talks about her childhood, her rise to success with LuxyHair and her mindset which has helped her become a millionaire. What an inspiration.

4.) The state of your bed is the state of your head: I heard this expression on Jessica Garvin’s blog and now every morning before work I can’t help but think of it if I try to leave without making my bed. I feel like it somehow affects your sub-conscious or something. Let me know if you feel the same 😉

5.) The leaves changing: I feel like nature can teach us things if we take the time to look around. The leaves around here in New Jersey seem to be taking forever to change color and it’s teaching me A LOT about patience. I’m realizing this season that everything in nature takes times and it’s making me feel better about some of my aspirations. Things don’t happen all at once and amazing things take time.

6.) Home Office: One of my dreams in life is to work from home at least part of the time and have an amazing home office so I’ve been pinning away getting some inspiration for it. I believe that if you want something you should act as if it’s already happening and you’re already getting it sooo I decided why not make a Pinterest board to really visualize it? I’ll link it in case you guys want to check it out. These are some I love:

love the wood & the purple
light and airy with pops of blue

Well guys that’s all I have for today. I hope you all enjoyed this post and have an amazing week as usual. I have now linked my social media pages in the sidebar so be sure to follow me if you’re interested in learning a bit more about me and my personal life. Happy October!

Fall Inspiration

I LOVE Fall. LOVE. It’s my absolute favorite season and I love everything that comes with it: the leaves changing colors, pumpkin spice everything, cooler air and of course the clothes. I start searching for Fall inspiration toward the end of summer and Pinterest really helps me to organize it and figure out what I want to wear, eat and do in the upcoming season. I already got two candles: Marshmallow Fireside and Sweet Cinnamon Pumpkin as well as some festive body lotion Marshmallow Pumpkin Latte. Being festive for different seasons and holidays is my thing and I really enjoy it so I thought I would share some things that are inspiring me right now and getting me pumped for Fall.

Happy September

I’m sitting here on this Sunday morning feeling so incredibly inspired and grateful for the life that I’m living. My life is so full. Full is really the only way I can describe it. I have many wonderful friends, and a family that is crazy and chaotic but also fiercely supportive and filled with love. My longtime boyfriend and I are dating again after breaking up for a little over 6 months. I have a job and a blog. And I have so many more goals that I want to accomplish before this year is over. I am watching my friends grow into adults and start their careers. I’m quietly observing the subtle changes that are taking place in all of our lives. This is such an interesting time in my life and I can’t help but feel like I’m so excited for what’s next.

My Blogging Inspirations

Hello Everyone

I hope you’re all enjoying the last few days of August because I know I am. Yesterday, I spent my day on a boat and the beach collecting snails and soaking up the sun. Today, I’m headed up to my old college town for dinner and a walk around the town. This is normally the time of year when I would be preparing to go back so I figured it was the perfect time to head back up there and reminisce. I try to enjoy every day and not put too much of my focus on the weekends but they really are important and they’re a great break in the week. I try to split my weekends between having fun, getting important things done and relaxing. The weekend is the perfect time to reflect on your goals and to refocus your energy for the week ahead. I love catching up on my favorite bloggers and YouTubers on the weekends and today I wanted to talk a little bit about some of my inspirations when it comes to blogging and life in general. I’ve been inspired by a lot of people and I can honestly say there are some bloggers and YouTubers who have made a huge impact on my life. It’s such a blessing that in this day and age we’re connected by the Internet. We can see how other people live their lives and it can inspire us to change or improve our own when normally, without technology, we wouldn’t have even know they existed. There are different things that inspire me about each one of these ladies and although they’re all different I’m thankful to have found their blogs and channels so I thought I would share!

Packing for a Weekend Trip

It’s Friday Junior!

I hope you’re all having a great week and are ready for the upcoming weekend to begin. This weekend I’m going to be heading up to Lake George in New York and I’m super excited. I’ve never been but I hear it’s really beautiful. I’m a travel junkie and I love seeing new places, being outside around nature, and doing things that get my adrenaline pumping. I wasn’t really sure what to pack for this trip so I thought I would get myself organized and share some of my tips on packing.

Reasons I’m Relieved I’m Not Going Back to College

Hey guys!

I hope you’re all having an amazing week! Now that it’s the middle of August (how did that happen???) I figured I would do a back to school post and talk a little bit about college. It’s that time of the year when people start heading back and after spending my whole life in school and having an amazing time in college I can’t help but feel nostalgic and a little bit sad about the fact that I’m not going back. I made so many memories in college that I will always hold so close to my heart. The beginning of the school year was always so much fun. It was definitely the best four years of my life but that time has come to an end and in a way I’m glad. It’s bittersweet for me but I think everything ends when it should, college included. To make myself feel better and a little less left out I decided to reflect and make a list of all the reasons I’m relieved I’m not going back to school:

Things I’m Loving Right Now

July Favorites

July came and went so fast. This was my first month working at my new job and it has been a big transition. Going from being a college student, babysitting, and doing small side jobs to working 42 hour work weeks and commuting is a big transition but it really made the time fly. Today I thought I would give you guys a little taste of what I was loving in the month of July.

  1. The Secret by Rhonda Byrne: Whether you think it’s all a bunch of HOOPLAH (yes, that is a SpongeBob reference) or you think there is some truth to it, the law of attraction is fascinating. I thought the book was actually really inspiring. It’s motivated me and it helps me get a better grip on my thoughts. Whether you believe in what this book says or not, I think we can all agree our thoughts are powerful and sometimes they can make or break us. After reading this my mindset switched from never having enough, to abundance and that’s pretty amazing.
  2. Burt’s Bees Brightening Facial Cleanser: I originally bought this back in March and I just finished the bottle. Not only did it actually brighten and improve the look of my skin but it was only $8 at Target and it lasted me 4 months. Not to mention it smells like daisies and contains no harmful chemicals
  3. Think Dirty App: This app is life changing! You scan beauty and skincare products, and can see how many harmful chemicals they contain. It gives the product a rating from 1-10 and explains the rating for you. The products are rated by carcinogenity, reproductive toxicity and allergens. The app also gives you suggestions of which products you should use instead of the “dirty” ones. As I get older, I’m learning more and more about the amount of chemicals in everyday products and cleaning up my beauty cabinet is one of my goals. Best of all, the app is free.
  4. Going dairy free: I’ve been dairy free for over a month and it’s been life changing. I’ve been lactose intolerant since I was a year old but I always tried to ignore it (because CHEESE). After years of ingesting something my body wasn’t happy with I started getting really sick, and I decided enough was enough. After I quit, my skin cleared up, my digestion got better, I had more energy and I even started to slim down. It’s not nearly as hard as I thought it would be and vegan pizza is pretty damn good.
  5. Vegan Cupcakes: Now that I’m dairy free I had to get creative when it comes to enjoying my absolute favorite dessert: cupcakes. My sister and I found this cute little vegan bakery called Papa Ganache and their cupcakes are so good. It’s a half hour drive but we stock up 😉 If you’re in the Central Jersey area definitely check it out. They taste exactly like regular cupcakes without that heavy feeling afterward.
  6. Sleep Shirts: Sleep Shirts. Night gowns. Whatever you want to call it, I’m obsessed. One of my best friends from college always wears them and she inspired me to get one for myself. They’re so comfortable and perfect for summertime. I recently got one from Forever 21 and I’ve been wearing it nonstop.

That’s all for now! I hope you guys enjoyed this post. Comment below and let me know what some of your July favorites are.

Happy August!
